“Long Covid” is real and patients really do suffer debilitating symptoms for many months after they recover from coronavirus, experts have confirmed.
Groups supporting Covid-19 survivors had said doctors were dismissing ongoing problems or misdiagnosing ongoing effects as chronic fatigue syndrome. But in the first study to show a conclusive pattern, researchers at North Bristol NHS Trust found 75% of coronavirus patients at Bristol’s Southmead Hospital still suffered problems three months later.
