Paedo priest disguised as a ‘living saint’: one of his victims speaks out

A victim of sexual predator Bishop Ball explains why, after 25 years, he is still battling to expose the full scandal

“I had been told in advance how special Bishop Peter Ball was. The term used was that he ‘shone with the light of Christ’.” Phil Johnson was nine when he heard these glowing testimonials.

His experience of this admired Anglican "living saint" was very different: Bishop Ball became his sexual abuser.

Johnson was just one of what some estimates put at as many as 100 victims of Ball, stretching from the 1970s until he was finally convicted of sexual misconduct with 18 young men in 2015, with two additional charges of sexual abuse of minors (including Johnson) left on the court file...
