Cambridge student makes bizarre death leap from a plane

A Cambridge University student described as a “bright, independent young woman” is feared to have broken open the door of a plane and leapt to her death from 1,100m during a trip to Madagascar.

Alana Cutland, 19, who was completing an internship on the island off the east coast of Africa, is reported to have fought off another passenger before jumping from the Cessna light plane.

Ruth Johnson is understood to have grappled with Cutland in a desperate attempt to prevent her falling from the plane last Thursday...
