We can’t wait until Pirates, Chiefs or Sundowns are sold and their names decimated like Highlands and Wits
How did we get here?
A concerned SA football fan asked this pertinent question on social media this week as the Premier Soccer League (PSL) continues to operate like a spaza shop where clubs are sold like amagwinya (vetkoek) to the highest bidder these days.
When this act of evil – which is disguised as a good intention to invest in football by those with deep pockets – is okayed, there’s scant regard for the trail of destruction and disaster it leaves behind – those who once regarded these clubs as their homes, either as players, supporting staff, and most importantly the community who supported those clubs in bad and good times...
