1907 — Jimmy Sinclair and Aubrey Faulkner put on 61 for the opening partnership, before SA suffer a scare as they lose three wickets for 15 runs on the final day of the third Test against England at the Oval. But Bert Vogler (19) and Tip Snooke (36) steadied the ship as the visitors get to stumps on 159/5 to draw the match. England won the series 1-0.

1965 — The Springboks suffer a double whammy as they go down in their worst defeat to the All Blacks, 0-13 in Dunedin, conceding three tries to endure their seventh consecutive defeat, their longest losing stretch in history. Lionel Wilson gave a solitary standout performance for SA at fullback, taking on the rampant Kiwis single-handedly in a display that earned him a standing ovation at Carisbrook. ..
