Humble pie tastes great when it’s for a cause like Rassie

As Bok coach he achieved all of his objectives and for that I withdraw the criticism I made last year

In March 2018, it was on this very platform where I criticised the appointment of Johan “Rassie” Erasmus as Springbok coach/director of rugby.

I was critical because he came into the position without a trophy track record, something that’s common among SA coaches considering that none have won the Super Rugby tournament since Frans Ludeke coached the Pretoria franchise to success back in 2010.

It’s time I ate humble pie and said I was wrong about Rassie. It’s difficult to argue against Rugby World Cup success and with what he has achieved in the past 18 months...
