SA Rugby’s shiniest suits will meet on January 16 to plot the organisation’s medium to long term strategy. They will be tasked with building on the Springboks’ success at the Rugby World Cup (RWC).

In the week leading up to the RWC final, Springbok head coach and director of rugby Rassie Erasmus urged the organisation not to squander the momentum generated by the tournament – as was the case in 1995 and 2007. 

Part of that process includes deciding who will replace Erasmus as head coach. SA Rugby is unlikely to look far in sourcing a replacement. Whoever replaces Erasmus will have to operate on the same wavelength as the director of rugby, who will be his direct boss...
