PSL structure kicks back MTN8 start date

Premier Soccer League season means a shift for the lucrative knockout competition

The MTN8 is to have a later kick-off than usual this coming campaign as the structure of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League season has been revealed.

The lucrative knockout competition will get under way with the quarterfinals on the weekend of August 17-18, by which time there will have already been a couple of rounds of Absa Premiership matches played. The MTN8 has in the past kicked off the campaign, but with the final being played later than usual due to African club competition dates, the league has been able to shift back the start-date.

The first leg of the semifinals will be played on the weekend of August 31-September 1, with the return fixtures to be staged midweek on September 17-18 in another change from the past...
