By enlisting a considerable foreign legion in his Rugby World Cup plans, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus tacitly admits two things:


SA’s top talent will be recognised wherever they ply their trade on the planet; and
Super Rugby is relinquishing its status as the best stepping stone to Test rugby.


The inclusion by Erasmus of nine offshore players in his alignment camp in Pretoria this week means that almost a third of his squad destined for Japan will be players who don’t play Super Rugby...
