Almost a third of the coach’s squad for the Rugby World Cup will be players who don’t play Super Rugby
By enlisting a considerable foreign legion in his Rugby World Cup plans, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus tacitly admits two things:
SA’s top talent will be recognised wherever they ply their trade on the planet; and
Super Rugby is relinquishing its status as the best stepping stone to Test rugby.
