No road too rocky for Rassie van der Dussen

For most of his career, SA’s top-order batsman Hendrik Erasmus “Rassie” van der Dussen has had to break down doors.

Many cricket fans are marvelling at the finished product on display at the ICC World Cup in England where he has scored 91 runs after two innings, but the road has been long for the 30-year-old.

Those who know him best say he never allowed challenges to distract him from the goal of playing for the Proteas, and that dream was realised at the ripe age of 29 in the T20 match against Zimbabwe in East London in 2018...
