Today in SA sports history: December 7
1996 — Flyhalf Henry Honiball kicks two penalties and a conversion as the Springboks edge France 13-12 at Parc des Princes to win the two-match series 2-0. Hooker James Dalton scored the only try of the match.
1997 — Helman Mkhalele scores against Brazil in the 77th minute to give Bafana Bafana a chance in their friendly against the world champions at Ellis Park. But the home side was unable to find the equaliser and went down 1-2 in the end. Romario and Bebeto netted for the visitors in the first half.
