Wastewater treatment report shows SA is even deeper in the kak
The document says 39% of municipal wastewater systems are in a critical state, compared with 29% in 2013
For the first time in nine years the department of water and sanitation (DWS) has published the results of a Green Drop audit report — and they’re dire.
The report, for the period July 2020 to June 2021, shows that only 23 of 995 wastewater networks and treatment works scored the minimum 90% requirement.
This means less than half of the systems awarded Green Drop status in 2013 have retained it...
