Will she stay or will she go? Bathabile faces ANC top six this week
The ANC requires those convicted of serious crimes to step down, but ‘hasn’t determined whether perjury is serious’
Bathabile Dlamini could be asked to resign as ANC Women’s League president when she meets the party’s leadership this week.
According to treasurer general Paul Mashatile, in his capacity as acting secretary-general, Dlamini will, “in a few days”, be hauled to a meeting with the ANC’s national leadership, dubbed “the top six”, to explain why she has not voluntarily vacated her position after being convicted of perjury.
She is expected to be sentenced on Friday...
