The Watson family, Gqeberha’s dynastic business and former struggle clan, has hit back strongly at the Zondo commission, saying the process was a deliberate attack on the family and the ANC.
The commission of inquiry into state capture on Wednesday released its 900-page report into the activities of Bosasa, the company led by the late Gavin Watson, that bagged huge contracts with government departments, including correctional services, home affairs, education and transport.
Bosasa garnered more than R2.3bn in government contracts in a decade during which, the report said, the company also paid an estimated R75m in bribes, according to Angelo Agrizzi, its former COO turned whistle-blower...
