DA governs ‘equally’ in Cape Town, insists mayoral candidate

Former MP Geordin Hill-Lewis also wants to focus on ‘dignity and fighting poverty’

The DA’s Geordin Hill-Lewis, mayoral candidate for Cape Town, “absolutely” wants every Capetonian to feel cared for and respected as a resident, no matter where they live.

“I absolutely say that no matter where you live in Cape Town, you should have the same experience. And if you’re not having the same experience, that’s wrong and I want to understand why and I want to fix it,” he said recently. 

He is a front-runner for the mayoral chain after next month’s local government elections. The DA already governs Cape Town with a 67% vote from the 2016 polls...
