The engineering and construction company appointed by the Gauteng provincial government to build a multimillion-rand school in Mayibuye location in Tembisa have placed the blame for the structural problems squarely on the infrastructure development and property management department.

The provincial government has spent more than R82m and needs a further R32m to complete Mayibuye Primary School.

The Gauteng legislature’s portfolio committee on infrastructure development and property management chairperson, Mpho Modise, said they were working with the departments of infrastructure development and education to find a solution. ..
