SA state security vows to protect US envoy who is ‘marked’ by Iran

Iran is allegedly considering a hit on SA-born US ambassador

SA’s State Security Agency said it had noted the reports of the alleged plot to kill US ambassador to the country, Lana Marks, and the growing public interest in the matter.

State security minister Ayanda Dlodlo said SA had a duty to ensure maximum protection for all diplomats on state duty.

“The agency is interacting with all relevant partners in the country and abroad, to ensure no harm will be suffered by the US ambassador, including any other diplomatic officials inside the borders of our country,” the department said...
