Africa, beware of Covid-19 fatigue as cases decline, say experts
The message is clear: to maintain a downward spiral we must carry on with the same personal safety measures
New cases of Covid-19 in Africa reported in the past week dropped by five percent, continuing the overall 10% decline in reported new cases the past month, said Africa CDC director Dr John Nkengasong on Thursday.
“The strains of coronavirus on the continent are all related to imported cases from Europe and multiple transmission of those cases occurring within the continent,” he said, when asked about possible genetic variations of the virus in Africa.
