Finance minister Tito Mboweni has tabled a range of new measures in parliament aimed at tackling corruption in the procurement of Covid-19 personal protective equipment, including a return to open tender processes.

Mboweni and the National Treasury also want “a more stringent review” of how politically exposed persons participate in the entire public procurement value chain.
