Hospital to face the heat after dying dad is left out in the cold

KZN department of health has come under fire after a patient died in a makeshift ward in a hospital parking lot

Hours before Pietermaritzburg father Sibusiso Khumalo, 67, died on Saturday, he had complained about being cold in the makeshift ward in the Northdale hospital parking lot.

Now his daughter Hlengiwe wants to take the provincial health department to task for his death.

“My dad was kind and caring. He was always on his feet. We used to have to tell him to take a break. He loved gardening. He was full of life. You could tell he was a person who took care of himself. He loved life, and to see him go the way that he did is unfair,” said Hlengiwe. ..
