The US-based company, which also owns Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram, had to be forced to do this.
The abuse involves someone who created five anonymous Instagram accounts, with variations of the word killer, and sent a series of threats to the Johannesburg teenager. He tormented her with graphic and sordid details of plans to rape her, with the assistance of other boys, then dispose of her body in a dam.
