Public protector to probe MEC Bredell after leaked recording

This after Western Cape opposition wrote to premier to raise the matter and ask that Bredell be sacked or suspended

Western Cape local government MEC Anton Bredell is being probed by the office of the public protector for an alleged breach of the ethics code.

This comes after the leader of the opposition in the Western Cape legislature, Cameron Dugmore, laid a complaint related to a number of incidents involving Bredell’s engagements with DA councillors in two municipalities in the province.

The probe also came after Dugmore wrote to Western Cape premier Alan Winde to raise the matter and ask that Bredell be sacked or suspended...
