The money could have been used to save lives in the coronavirus pandemic, says the deputy chief justice
Deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo was on Tuesday at pains to try to understand how no one was held accountable for rampant looting at the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) during former president Jacob Zuma’s years.
The source of his frustration at the state capture inquiry was Prasa’s failure to recover R2.6bn from Swifambo Rail Leasing, a company that scooped the tender award for Afro 4000 locomotives that were found to be a misfit for Prasa’s rail network.
