As ‘load reduction’ makes life a misery in Joburg, utility says it can’t distinguish illegal from paying customers
Gas cylinders have become a feature in most homes in Cosmo City, northwest of Johannesburg, as the area is plagued by power cuts or, in Eskom speak, load reduction.
Unfortunately, paying customers cannot be ring-fenced on the power grid, leaving those with legal connections in the dark.
