South Africans will need to continue wearing masks and practise social distancing until the end of 2021, when the mass distribution of a Covid-19 vaccine is most likely to be available.

This is according to leading epidemiologist and chairperson of the Covid-19 ministerial advisory committee, Professor Salim Abdool Karim.
