Red light has been given the green light as a way to improve declining eyesight in over-40s.

Staring at a deep-red light for three minutes a day could help millions of people with naturally declining vision, a small peer-reviewed study at the University of London has found.

The small LED torch issued to 24 participants in the study costs £12 (about R260) to make, and the ophthalmologists who did the study said their discovery could pave the way to affordable home-based eye therapies...
