The Eastern Cape premier has instructed the former acting king to vacate the Bumbane Great Place

Former AbaThembu acting king Azenathi Dalindyebo has defied Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane’s instruction that he must vacate the Bumbane Great Place, refusing to step down amid a protracted battle for the throne.

In a letter, the premier removed Azenathi from the acting position, effective immediately, just a week after the AmaDlomo royal family announced him as permanent king. He was voted into power at an imbizo to replace his controversial father, King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo.
