Security is paramount for two young entrepreneurs who have entered the student housing market

Attacks on women at student residences have prompted two entrepreneurs to make safety the focal point of their new property development.

The co-founders of Proper Living, celebrity YouTuber Caspar Lee, 25, and entrepreneur Benji Schaffer, 23, are addressing concerns about personal safety at their 98-unit rental apartment project under construction in Observatory, Cape Town.

It will feature state-of-the-art security, including 24/7 guarding and rapid response, surveillance, biometric fingerprint scanning and a safety app for residents. When the project is complete in December, the duo plans to roll out similar developments countrywide. ..
