As SA prepares for the rising tide of Covid-19 infections – scrambling to address critical ventilator shortages and ICU bed space – a simple medical technique of treating the sick lying face down may save lives.
The practice, called proning, would see doctors and nurses flipping the script, treating patients on their stomachs to allow for better ventilation.
