Hey pesto! Hope and courage drives women farmers to success
A group of women in the arid Northern Cape has ditched traditional farming methods for aquaponics
Years of hard work and perseverance is paying off for a group of Northern Cape women, who started a food co-operative after years of looking for work without success.
Esther Nell and four other women from Pella run a successful farming project, which allows them to feed their families and help those in need.
“This project has really brought relief to our lives, because we now have food on our table every day,” Nell said. “We can eat fresh vegetables daily and we can donate produce to people with HIV, as well as to schools and soup kitchens.” ..
