Johannesburg businessman Gary Sweidan says the relief of recovering from Covid-19 is marred by the mental lockdown of emerging from the disease into a society still under siege.

Sweidan was one of the first South Africans to test positive, having just returned from a birthday party in the US. He spent almost three weeks in self-quarantine at his home, bedridden or working in his office behind a glass partition...
