The industry was already reeling from a double blow, now the pandemic has worsened the situation
In January, it looked as if SA’s hunting and wildlife ranching industry was set for a pretty good year.
Hunting safari operators had returned from the big travel trade shows in Europe with solid bookings – enough to at least make a small profit after paying their costs.
Now all those plans are in tatters as the industry reels from the double blow of countries shutting their borders and airlines suspending flights as coronavirus panic sweeps the world...
