Livid Joburgers want to know what happened to the ‘war on potholes’

The Johannesburg Roads Agency claims it has declared war, but residents say they have yet to see evidence of it

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is adamant it’s waging a war on potholes, but some residents on the ground feel the whole project is a PR stunt as logged calls are not attended to.

Roodepoort resident Vusi Langa logged a call with the roads agency, following an announcement by Joburg mayor Geoffrey Makhubo on February 19 that the road agency would embark on a “War on Potholes” to address the decaying state of roads in the city, due to what he said was non-maintenance over a prolonged period.
