As number of Covid-19 cases grows, SA has first critical patient

The new cases are in the Western Cape and not linked to the KZN group that was in Italy

The number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in SA stood at 13 by Wednesday afternoon, with a patient in Gauteng in a critical condition.

Gauteng health MEC Bandile Masuku said officials were “worried” about the health of the 57-year-old man who also suffered from renal disease.

He said the man – whose identity is not being revealed – had a “comorbidity of renal disease, which we are worried about”...
