‘Don’t panic’: most Covid-19 victims will be fine, says an expert

There will be more infections in SA, but the vast majority will recover, so don’t overreact, warns virologist

The three South Africans who are confirmed to have contracted Covid-19 all have mild symptoms similar to the common cold, a health expert said on Sunday.

The probability is high that more locals will be infected but most recover from the virus that has caused jitters across the world, said Lancet Laboratories’ clinical virologist Prof Eftyhia Vardas.
