Community leader says after claim was gazetted, they thought they would get the land, but that didn’t happen

Land claimants from KaMgadzeni in White River, Mpumalanga, fear they will never realise their dream of going back to the land of their ancestors.

The group blames the government for delays they say they don’t understand. Their claim includes 15 farms and was first lodged in 1998. It was gazetted in 2007.

Claimant Elliott Sando said he feared they would die and their children would not continue the fight to get their land back...
