A man accused of stabbing his wife with a kitchen knife in front of their small children has admitted to the attempted murder, taking a plea deal that will see him incarcerated – but not long enough for his estranged spouse.

Last month, the Sunday Times reported how the man had been arrested after a brutal September 19 altercation at the couple’s Northriding home that sent them both to hospital.

The alleged altercation is detailed in statements provided to the court by the woman and the couple’s neighbours, who rescued her and drove her to hospital bleeding from wounds sustained across her body...
