Heat cameras set to halt coronavirus before it can invade SA

Thermal-imaging camera company is in talks with SA authorities to help detect elevated body temperatures

A fixed thermal-imaging camera, which helps detect elevated body temperatures, has never been in more demand as it is now in the face of the coronavirus outbreak.

While no cases of the deadly virus have yet been reported in SA, GoThermal – a distributor of the technology locally – said it was in talks with entities such as the Airports Company of SA (ACSA) to introduce the thermal-imaging camera units at airports.

ACSA did not immediately respond to queries about thermal screening...
