Corruption cases: knives out as SIU gears up for major civil action
Former ministers, DGs and state officials are set to be hauled before the Special Investigating Unit tribunal
It has clinched its first victory and now the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is set to strike again in government’s fight to claw back billions of rand lost from the state’s coffers.
Within the next two months, several civil cases against government ministers, senior officials and prominent businesspeople will be brought before the SIU special tribunal after being tasked by President Cyril Ramaphosa to recover R15bn.
