No kidding around: security guards for crime-ridden schools

The KZN education department will deploy 3,000 security staff in the 2020 academic year

Three thousand people – some volunteers, other trained security personnel – will protect KwaZulu-Natal schools when they open on Wednesday.

The MEC for education in the province, Kwazi Mshengu, announced on Monday that 1,500 people would be added to the 1,500 community volunteers who assist with school safety.
