Give whistleblower his job back, protector tells SA nuke body

SA Nuclear Energy Corporation subsidiary gets tongue lashing for victimising senior staff member

A division of the SA Nuclear Energy Corporation unfairly victimised one of its senior staff, who was forced to resign after raising corruption concerns, public protector Busisiwe Mkwebane has ruled.

Nuclear Technology Products Isotopes (NTP Isotopes) has been instructed to reinstate Lionel Adendorf, the former head of media and stakeholder relations, who resigned from the company two years ago. Adendorf claims he was forced to resign after making a protected disclosure in late 2016 about alleged corrupt activities within NTP involving some of his superiors. Six days after raising his concerns with his managers, Adendorf was accused of improper conduct and served with disciplinary charges.

He later reported the matter to the public protector.    ..
