On the 25th anniversary of his death the party invokes the qualities of the struggle icon for today’s comrades


Joe Slovo was a “wonderful” man who worked with comrades from different background to achieve the liberation of the country.

These were the words of Helena Dolny, Slovo’s widow, who was speaking on behalf of the Slovo family at his commemoration ceremony organised by the SA Communist Party (SACP), at the Avalon cemetery in Soweto on Monday.
