Flood victims battle to keep their heads above water

Survivors of the floods that hit Centurion after heavy rains speak about their loss

Ananeie Greyling woke up on Monday morning to many WhatsApp messages from community groups about the extent of damage caused by flooding.

Like many other residents who are involved in the community, Greyling realised the situation was dire and overwhelming for the victims, and asked people to come together to help the destitute.

Greyling, from the Doornkloof Family Church in Centurion, quickly began a community drive for food, clothes, shoes and blankets for the 75 adults, toddlers and babies rescued from the Bagarezi informal settlement near the SuperSport Park Stadium in Centurion...
