President cuts short Egypt trip to be briefed by utility bosses on plans to resolve the electricity crisis
President Cyril Ramaphosa cut short a trip to Egypt on Tuesday for an urgent meeting with the Eskom board, a day after the power utility plunged the country into unprecedented stage 6 load-shedding.
“President Ramaphosa will on Wednesday meet with the board and management of the national power utility Eskom where he will be briefed on plans to mitigate and resolve the current electricity crisis affecting most of the country,” said presidency spokesperson Khusela Diko.
