Mental health experts say putting up the Christmas decorations earlier could make for happier families


The jury is still out on when it’s acceptable to put up a Christmas tree. However, mental health experts agree that the festive tree could trigger happiness.

Responding to a recent study published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology, which found that neighbours who had Christmas decorations on their homes were considered friendly and cohesive, US psychotherapists Amy Molin and Steve McKeown encouraged putting up Christmas trees in November. They said those who put up their Christmas trees earlier were happier.
