Last rites: outspoken AmaXhosa king dies

AmaXhosa King Mpendulo Calvin Zwelonke Sigcawu, described as a “man of clarity on whatever he believed in”, died after a year-long illness at the age of 51 in an Eastern Cape hospital on Thursday morning.

Sigwacu was known to be outspoken, publicly challenging the ctontroversial initiation film Inxeba and calling for the release of abaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo.
