Former manager puts Anoj Singh in the middle of the procurement debacle – not that the latter was there to hear it
The question of how various Transnet committees failed to detect discrepancies that led to soaring costs in the procurement of 1,064 locomotives was key at the disciplinary hearing of former chief financial officer Anoj Singh on Wednesday.
This was the first day of hearings into 18 charges related to gross negligence, misconduct and dishonesty brought by the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica) against Singh, a former Transnet and Eskom CFO. His membership has already been suspended.
But Singh and his attorney failed to show up, and did not provide an explanation...
