But the tanker is classified as ‘low-risk’ by the maritime safety authority, which let it dock at the Cape and Durban
A Greek oil tanker alleged to have caused a huge spill in Brazil is sitting just outside SA waters, according to the SA Maritime Safety Authority (Samsa).
Last Friday the Brazilian Navy said it believed the cause of the July 28-29 spill was the Bouboulina, owned by Greece’s Delta Tankers.
But Samsa said it had no reason to suspect the ship was involved in the spill and had allowed her to dock at two harbours and continue her journey. The ship took on oil in Venezuela and is headed to Singapore...
