Lee Mentoor's killer fails to delay sentencing proceedings again

Mom of deceased boy says life sentence means little when she still don't have her boy's body.

The convicted murderer of three-year-old Lee Mentoor, Onke Mashinini tried again this morning to delay sentencing proceedings.

This morning, his family members came with a letter to court and told the prosecutor that he has fired his legal counsel, Advocate Mavhavha Twala and has appointed a new counsel but said the new counsel could not make it to court and he was therefore asking for a postponement.

This was the last straw that broke the family and they told Times Select that they almost missed the sentence as they thought Mashinini would get away again and delay sentencing proceedings. ..
