A paramedic is recuperating and expected to be discharged from hospital in a week’s time after surviving 28 stabs during a robbery.

Nico Stapelberg, director at Critical Care & Emergency Services training college, survived the attack by sheer luck and his first-aid knowledge. He managed to stop himself from bleeding to death.
